Cigarettes contain tobacco. Tobacco is the only legal product that kills you when you use it normally.

120,000 people die each year in Britain because of smoking. Thats about 330 people every day, or one every 4 minutes. That the same as if a plane crashed every single day. A third of all cancer deaths are caused by smoking. Smokers are twice as likely to have a heart attack as non-smokers.

On top of all that, smoking makes you stink. It gives you a mouth like an ashtray, yellow teeth and bad breath. And it costs.

Its not suprising that nearly three-quarters of smokers want to give up. The problem is that cigarettes are addictive. Once you start smoking, it's hard to stop.

At TNT we know that lots of young people smoke. The church is a no smoking building, and we get tough on anyone who breaks that rule. It's not because we want to spoil peoples fun - its because we don't want to see anyone hurting themselves.

If your friend was about to get knocked over by a bus you'd scream for them to get out of the way. If someone is smoking they are killing themselves. Half of the teenagers who carry on smoking will die because of it. We don't want to see you die that way!
