About the country
Romania was occupied by the Russians in World War 2, and became a communist country ruled by a dictator
afterwards. In this time he sold the food from Romania to other countries, but the people in Romania didn't
have enough to eat. He also encouraged families to have lots of children, and didn't let people be Christians.
In 1989 he was overthrown and killed.
Romania is still one of the poorest countries in Europe, and many government people are corrupt. There are
lots of children living in orphanages or on the streets. There is a problem with crime, alcohol and drugs.
Things to pray for
That children in orphanages or living on the streets will be cared for and looked after.
That the people in Romania will have enough to eat.
Thank God that Christians can now worship God without being punished for it. Pray that God would help the church
to grow.
That the government would look after the people in the country.
That people would love Jesus instead of turning to crime, alcohol or drugs.
